We don’t know whether Warren and Ann were married in Ireland or Canada. Their eldest child was born in Canada in 1843, and there were McElroys living in Albion Township, later Grey County, who may have been related to Ann.

Brown’s Toronto City and Home District Directory 1846-1847 has a Warren Lougheed and a Robert Lougheed living in Albion Township on Lot 21, Concession 8. Since Warren and Ann’s son George was born in Albion Township in 1845, we suspect that this was the same Warren who lived at that time on Lot 21. By the time of the 1851 Census for Collingwood Township, Warren and Ann were living on the east half of Lot 23, Concession 12. The W. W. Smith Gazetteer and Directory of the County of Grey 1865-1866 indicates that Warren was on Lot 21, Concession 11, a freeholder.

William and Daniel were sons of William Lougheed.
