Named for a village where her parents lived earlier, though the village has never been identified.

Lived at Melville Cross, known as such because it was the junction of two railroads, on Lot 27, Concession 2, West of Huron Street, Caledon Township, Peel County (now part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada).
