Notes for William Henry Lougheed
A former Deputy Commissioner and veteran of 40 years with the Ontario Provincial Police. He led investigations into some of Ontario’s most publicized crimes, including the 1934 kidnapping of millionaire bewer John Labatt. In the 1940’s he was held largely responsible for the roundup of the Peltier-Lauzon gang which robbed Quebec and Ontario banks of more than $1m. The 17 November 1962 edition of The Globe and Mail carried a length obituary.
