The Commemorative Biographical Record of the County of York (1907) contains a rather confusing account of George’s life:
“Mr. Loughead [sic] was a man of most pleasing manner, was always genial and always looked upon the right side of life. He was about six feet in height, and weighed about 250 pounds.... Mr. Loughead was a member of the Methodist church.... He was a man beloved by all who knew him, a model citizen, a Christian gentleman, and a kind husband and father.”
