Between 1849 and 1851 John and Catherine moved from Chinguacousy Township in Peel County to Euphrasia Township, Grey County, where they farmed Lot 16, Concession 5. John died without a will, and Catherine had to petition for a Grant of Letters of Administration to his personal estate. After her husband’s death, Catherine lived with members of her family.
