Ann Jane remembered hearing cannon fired during the 1837 Rebellion. Ann Jane did not marry, but following the death of her sister Matilda in March of 1885, she became the guardian of the Bradshaw children, the youngest of whom was only six years old. She died of congestion of the lungs at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Colin Thompson, in 1911.
