Notes for Harold John Lougheed
Served in the 70th Battalion and later the 24th Canadian Battalion during World War I. He received the Oak Leaf Medal and was mentioned in despatches once from Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig for “gallant and distinguished services in the Field.”

Harold and Pearl farmed near Heathcote until they retired to Thornbury in 1968.

Enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force at London, Ontario on 31 August 1915; assigned regimental number 123098. Served overseas with the 70th and later 24th Battalions. Discharged as Sargeant 6 September 1919 at Montreal, Quebec as part of the general demobilization.775
