Minister at the Skarðsströnd diocese from 1766, then became dean in Dalasýsla in 1781. He lived for over 30 years at Ballará (a property worth 68 hundreds) until 1800 when he was appointed to Alftamýri on Arnarfjörður to 1817, died at the age of 91, then a minister for 51 years.
