Ordained to Möðruvellir in 1557, appointed to Nes in Reykjadalur in 1565, then to the Lake Mývatn parish in 1570, Hvammur in Norðurárdalur in 1590, and Heydalir in Breiðdalur in 1591. Became dean in Múlasýsla in 1600 and retained that position to his death. Ministered in total for 69 years. A “good poet.”
