Notes for Israel Lougheed
A carpenter by trade, he helped to build many barns, houses and schools in Euphrasia. Something of a clown, he liked to do handstands on the roof of a new barn. One time he had an accident, and the doctor said nothing could be done. However, a neighbour looked at him and said, “I might as well sew you up,” and this she did with a needle and thread. Israel lived to talk about it.
Name on the Mountain View burial records is “Irael,” possibly a transcription error.
