Prior to her marriage, Agnes had lived with her parents in Adelaide Township, Middlesex County. She and William had two children. The following excerpt from her obituary in the Forest Standard, August 1906, gives some insight into her character:

“Being of a quiet disposition, she had not a wide circle of acquaintances, but to those who knew her intimately she was esteemed and loved for her many kind and charitable deeds and for her Christian character. To her husband and children she made home a home in truth and by her death a place has been left which can never be filled.”

After her death, William continued to reside on the farm in Warwick with his youngest daughter, Jean. He was an invalid for some time before his death.
